Beauty on the Horizon
The elegant butterfly moth, the most complex 3D butterfly created for the 'Butterfly Series', uses part of a cascade glass sheet. Each cascade sheet produces a one-of-a-kind look in design opacity and translucency. This subtle background showcases this magnificent butterfly moth as it soars above hand-created grasses. The glass in the large buttterfly moth was individually handcut and fit from 32 different pieces of glass, excluding all the crushed glass, or frit, added to create the complex coloring on the wings. In all, five 24-hour kiln firing were required for this 3D art sculpture. This art sits in a custom stained wood stand at a slight angle to enhance viewing. Overall size including stand is: 14" h x 9.5" w x 5" deep
PRODUCT INFO
Each glass art is an original one-of-a-kind design, handmade from sheets of premium glass. The designs are inspired by elements from nature and God's amazing touch. All art is created using colorfast glass. The sparkle from the irridized glass as well as the glass colors will not change over time and will last multiple lifetimes for an excellent art investment. All glass art is at least 6mm thick to ensure stabilty and rigidity. Each art has typically been kiln-fired for at least 2 different 24-hour firings, however, many have had 3 kiln firings. More complex designs have individual elements kiln-fired multiple times before integrated into the final art. Fine hand-placed details using crushed glass or frit adorn many of the works.
The art can be cleaned with a good glass cleaner, preferably one that is ammonia-free using a soft, non-scratching cloth like microfiber. Place directly in sunlight, or light from the front, back or overhead to enhance the colors of the art glass, the design, and to help exude the emotional response the art intended.
